Import of Blogger to WordPress

Here at work I didn't have anything to do, so I startetd checking feeds...yeah yeah, I should be doing homework but oh well. Anyhow I saw a feed that said WordPress has implemented a way to import Blogger posts into my blog. I was thinking about doing this but just never did. So now, after I have imported posts from here to WordPress I am going to see if it always does or just that once. So here is the test.

Small Updates

My buddy Derek had told me about the online based feed reader, and I was going crazy adding feeds from a lot of places. One of which is a del.icio.us feed for CSS. So I was checking that out the other night and one user tagged a blogspot blog. This particular blog had translations to other languages and stuff. What really caught my eye was that it had categories like my WordPress blog.
Today I went ahead and checked out Blogger help. Unfortunately I didn't find anything in the advanced help section, but I also didn't search. I did find something that allowed my to truncate my archives into one drop down rather than an ever growing list...
That's all, time for class...

So, I am missing my blogger quite a bit. Although I figured out how to change the code around and make it more of what I wanted, I am still fusterated about several bits of code and how it is implemented. The main thing that is keeping me there is the ability of clicking a link and reading all the recent posts of people that I am connected to. That's pretty cool.
I saw that blogger had a survey and suggestions box the last time I logged in here, and I gave the suggestion of making that addition of easily hook on to people.

Today was a hell of a day. Pretty freaking long. But this made me chuckle I didn't read the story yet.

Yeah, so I am here at wotk and saw that I got a comment. When I clicked the link there were a few changes on the layout. Nothing really happened except some display issues. It has to do with my code and where I positioned stuff. So meh

Yeah so I don't have mono, but close.

Health Update

So I had blood drawn yesterday afternoon to see if I have mono and anemia. They said it would take around 2 hours for mono, and a day for anemia. I haven't heard a thing yet, if I don't by tomorrow afternoon I'll go in and ask.

My room still has not cooled down much. I am sitting around 77 degrees, yep so I am pretty much dying.

Going to the doctors again today, still don't feel right.

Well, I just checked the temp...74 degrees, holy shiza. Now translate to my room temp, that's 82.1 degrees according to my clock. No wonder I am sweating to death. That's all, I am rolling out...

Another Bonus

So, I went to get my cold checked out. I got some nasty ass medicine, to help me sleep. It tastes like the medicine that I had to take when they knocked me out to make my inserts. Anyhow I woke up this morning to find my ear throbbing and filled with water. I went into see the same person and it turns out I happen to be that lucky that I also got an ear infection also. But I guess it barely started...fun times!

Oh yah I shaved my goatee way down. A bit before break it was maybe 2 or 3 inches long....now its about a quarter inch.

First Day

So today was the first day of Spring Quarter. My schedule isn't all that pretty. I am actually thinking of dropping one of the courses, simply because it's too much.

It took me a few days to get that last post finished, not really up to writting this week.

So, I am on Spring break, but the day that I was glad to not deal with anything related to school is Friday. Just as I was heading out to work and I get an email that basically said:

I did two jobs this morning and I entered them in the winter excel file and I also saved them in the ELP folder. So what you have to do is move the files out of the ELP folder and move them to the spring folder, and also move the text from the excel file.

This was from the other guy that I work with. What I do at work is produce Braille for the University of Washington. We sort of have a crazy way of organizing, well not really just by department. But the email and the attatched document gets moved three times before I get to look at it.
Since it is the end of the quarter we move all the stuff for the quarter that just past into one spot and save it. What that email says is that my co-worker, did two jobs (printed two documents in Braille), put them in the Winter files and it was my responsibility to sort it out. I replied with "and you couldn't do this because?" Sadly my very mature co-worker replied with "Time" pasted about 100 times, yes literally 100 if not more. I lost count after 10 rows of ten. He was just sending this out as I pulled into work.
I asked him why he didn't move these things and put the other stuff in the excel file. He went onto this hole ordeal about he was doing these two documents and they kept him so busy. These documents were 60 and 100 pages long, the 60 takes around 15-25minutes to emboss. Knowing the print time I didn't quite follow the logics of him because you only need to check every 10 minutes or so. Finally I said fine I'll do it, and fix everything. This has happened two times in the past. So I started re-organizing how my co-worker said my boss wanted it. Half hour later my boss walks in from lunch and I am like look this is what's going on, what the hell do you want it to be looking like? After almost an hour of fixing, moving and sorting I got it how it's supposed to be.
Let me know if y'all want to see the e-mails going back and forth. I think I shut him up because he gave me an one paragraph e-mail about ethics and I shot a page long one back at him.

I started a post on Saturday, then I somehow I restarted my laptop. A while later I restarted it but got doing this and that, and just left it running all night, and finished it that morning. Well when I came back and finished it Blogger kicked me out.

I have been really sleepy lately...it sucks.

Long Fusterating Day

So, Friday night I went to the house for a LAN party, headed over there about 7:15. It was a total mess setting up, and everybody online. The night was sorta ok. It was supposed to start around 8pm but started at around 10 due to technical difficulties. Of course I was the only person that got "this is why we told you to be early" comment. Ok, I thought showing up 45 minutes early to get 3 or 4 games loaded was good enough. Hey I was only the third one to show up out of 15 or so people that ended up coming. I just thought that that was interesting. Around 2 am my laptop freaked out and was basically dead for the rest of the party. I worked on it there from 2-5 off and on but got nowhere. We finally called it good at 8:10-8:15 am. I was home by 8:25 and in bed at 8:30, and thats the last time I saw on my alarm. Yup that's right up 24 and a half hours.
So I got up at 2pm determinded to get my computer back up and running again. The hours flew by, at 8 I was stressing because I just was getting nowhere. Fusterated, I tried uninstalling this program that I tried earlier but my computer kept freezing. Well as a last effort I just hit uninstall and decided to just walk away. Well I happened to have checked it and it finally uninstalled. It only took two hours to uninstall instead of the 5 minutes normally. After that I had some more messing with it to do. So at 10 I thought that I was good.
But nope, Windows Explorer automatically crashed after start up. Really upset now I changed a few more things and bingo things booted up properly. So I click to check my mail and such and says no connection. Thinking what the hell I reset the connection, still nothing. After 45 minutes I realize the IP address is still set for the house, I tell it to redo for the connection here at school. And that was my day

I added online status indicators. The site that has the good icons is down getting worked on. I noticed that the one for msn is not doing the proper thing. Hopefully the other site will me back up soon. That site is:www.onlinestatus.org/

Birthday Review

As my msn messenger currentlyy says: my birthday sucked. I worked roughly an hour extra, came home, ate my dinner, slept, then did homework. Yes, that is correct I slept like two hours during what is probably what are the most prime hours to hang out and whatnot.
I am sort of bummed that barely anybody comments here. Oh well.
I screwed up my sleeping pattern because I was awake for a lot of the morning hours yesterday, due to that I slept during my birthday. oh well

Yeah so my boss just left. Must be nice. I am off in an hour woohoo. And I am even going out.

Uh oh

I am juast here at work, pretty bored. I got a huge file a bit ago to Braille. After I told it start printing as Braille and the program that I use locked up and slowed the computer down. This is quite crazy because this computer has a 3.40 Ghz processor and 3.00 Gb of RAM. This should make the computer unstoppable, but it froze. I think I know the reason why it froze, although this is a crazy cpmputer in terms of speed and such, the way which the computer sends information to the embosser is an older method. So the computer was forcing the printer to read more than it could.
Luckily nothing got lost. The document was 70 pages long when printed in Braille. I kind of feel sorry for the person because the oringal document was only 22 pages.

This sucks

So the weather here is really messed up, I checked the weather during work, and it was 47 degrees outside. But due to the fact buildings are prepared for the winter, I almost died in the lab...It was in the mid 70s. I was seriously sweating from being too hot in January. On top of that, I had shorts on. I would have pealed over that I had pants on.

Yeah so I meant to post Friday at work, but I didn't. Was going to at my room, I didn't. Oh well.
My boss' wife and two sons are taking ski and snowboarding lessons, so I have to work later than usual, so he can drive them up to the mountain. So, instead of getting off at 3:30, I am working to 5. I may just mark those down for community service for my fraternity.

First Week

Well, the first week of Winter Quarter classes came to a end yesterday, and I can tell that I will be constantly reading. I forget the actual page number, but we have read around 50 pages so far in philosophy, boy oh boy. We have already had a small quiz in that course. My architecture course (arch 380) wont to bad I think, but it isn't really what I expected. It is called Introduction to Computers in Architecture, I was expecting to use advanced architectural software for various projects, but it seems as though we are just learning to make a Web page. Oops, that was one of the reasons why I was was hired by the Department of Defense this past summer, so I'm not stressed out at all about that class. The instructor told us that next week we are going to spend both days making our rsum for our site, and I came home and built it in a few minutes, then I made it a little fancy.

At work we have produced around 600 pages of Braille for the blind students and staff here at school, and I have done a good size of that myself. My boss has even put in a petition to give me a raise. So, I am pretty psyched about that.

Now back to studying.
